FDP on “Cone Beam CT in Prosthodontics”
The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology conducted a Faculty Development Programme on “Cone Beam CT in Prosthodontics”. The programme was held on 12th March 2021. Students and faculty members took part in the programme.
This was the third in the series of programmes planned by the Department for increasing awareness and knowledge of CBCT in the college and to promote interdepartmental collaboration in diagnosis, treatment planning and research.
The programme comprised of a presentation that highlighted the applications of CBCT in the field of Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics, and the various considerations while referring patients for a scan.
It was followed by a hands-on workshop that trained the delegates in opening a CBCT scan, using DICOM Viewer software (Romexis) and manipulating images to obtain measurements relevant to implant planning. After the session, Panel discussion was also held. Certificates were given to delegates at the end of the programme.
