ONLINE MOP UP COUNSELLING TO BDS COURSE

FACILITY FOR ONLINE OPTION REGISTRATION Vacancies in BDS course that may arise in various Government/Self Financing Dental Colleges after the second phase of allotment will be filled through two phases of mop up counselling to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, as per the notification no.DE22(16)2020 dated 09.120.2020 by Dental Council of India New Delhi. In view of the pandemic situation due to Covid-19, Mop up Counselling for this academic year 2020-21 is proposed to be conducted in online mode. In order to participate in the mop up counselling, candidates who are included in the Kerala State Medical Rank List (2020) published by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations can register fresh options from 17.12.2020 to 20.12.2020, 1.00 pm. But, those candidates who got admission in MBBS course in any Medical Colleges and BDS course in Government Dental college through previous allotment conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be allowed to participate in the Mop Up counselling.

The options of the candidates, who get allotment in MBBS course through Mop Up allotment for MBBS course scheduled to be published on 20.12.2020 by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, will not be considered for allotment in this Mop up counselling. Those candidates who have been allotted through All India counselling will not be allowed to participate in the Mop Up Counselling. Candidates can register their options from 17.12.2020 to 20.12.2020, 1.00 pm through the web site www.cee.kerala.gov.in by clicking the menu item ‘Mop up Option Registration’ available in the Home page. Based on the online options received up to 20.12.2020, 10.00 am the first phase Mop Up allotment will be published on 22.12.2020.

Candidates who receive allotment in this phase shall have to take a printout of their allotment memo and remit the fee/ balance fee (if applicable) payable to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, at any of the Head Post Offices in Kerala or by way of Online Payment on any date from 23.12.2020 to 28.12.2020, 4pm. The list of Post Offices having facility for fee payment is available in the website. After remitting the fee/balance fee (if applicable), the candidates should join the course/college allotted before 4 pm on 28.12.2020. Since the probable vacancies that may arise during the course of Mop up allotment have to be filled there in itself, candidates shall give options to all Dental colleges in which they wish to study for the course, if they get an allotment. The second phase Mop Up counselling will be conducted by considering the online options registered by the candidates from 17.12.2020 to 20.12.2020, 1.00 pm.

Candidates shall give options to all BDS colleges that they wish to join, if they get allotment. If the candidates, who have been allotted to BDS course through previous phases of allotment by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, get a new allotment through the mop up counselling, previous allotment of the candidate will stand cancelled. Hence candidates should be vigilant while giving options for considering in the online Mop Up allotment.

Guidelines for Mop-up counselling

  • Those candidates who got admission in MBBS course in any Medical Colleges and BDS course in Government Dental college through previous allotment conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be allowed to participate in the Mop Up counselling.
  • (ii) The options of the candidates, who get allotment in MBBS course through Mop Up allotment for MBBS course scheduled to be published on 20.12.2020 by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, will not be considered for allotment in this Mop up counselling.
  • (iii) Those candidates who have been allotted through All India counselling will not be allowed to participate in the Mop Up Counselling.
  • (iv) Transfer will be permitted in the mop-up counselling to students admitted in Self Financing Dental colleges to Government Dental colleges.
  • (v) Transfer from NRI seat to Government/Minority seat shall be permitted between two Self Financing colleges or in the same college.

22.12.2020 Publication of Allotment
23.12.2020 to 28.12.2020, 4.00 pm Candidates who receive allotment should remit the fee/balance fee (if applicable) payable to CEE in any of the Head Post Offices in Kerala or by way of online payment and should report before the college authorities to join the allotted college.
28.12.2020 5 pm All the college authorities should approve and submit the list of admitted candidates through Online Admission Management System (OAMS) for Medical & Medical allied courses.

 FEES

Fees for BDS course is available in the website. All candidates getting allotment to BDS course must pay the fee prescribed in the allotment memo.

  • Candidates get allotment to BDS course who belong to SC/ST/OEC/Children of Registered Fishermen category and those having benefits as per G.O. (MS) 25/2005/SCSTDD, dated: 20.06.2005 and G.O. (MS) 10/2014/BCDD, dated: 23.05.2014 – and also wards from Sri Chitra Home/Poor Home and Nirbhaya are exempted from payment of fee.However those candidates who are eligible for fee concession admitted to NRI/Minority seats shall pay the fee as applicable.
  • Candidates those who have remitted any fee for the allotment to Medical and Medical Allied courses to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations as per the previous KEAM allotments need to pay the balance amount only. Whereas the amount paid by the candidates admitted through previous KEAM allotments in Engineering/Architecture and Pharmacy courses will not be considered for the allotment to BDS course.

Note: Candidates who get an allotment through mop up counselling should pay the amount as specified the allotment memo (if applicable) and should join the colleges concerned within the time limit specified.

Liquidated damages as stipulated in clause 12.2.4 of the KEAM 2020 Prospectus shall be applicable to those candidates who lapse admission procedure after being allotted to the course through mop up counselling, hence it is once again reminded that candidates should be most vigilant while participating in the mop up counselling or registration of options.
