Wins award for Paper Presentation

Preethi K, a second year MDS student of the Dept. of Oral Pathology and Microsbiology, KMCT Dental College, has bagged the award in best paper presentation at the IAOMP National conference held in Bhubaneswar recently.

Around 200 dental students presented papers at the national conference. Preethi presented a paper on `Power Feasibility of hematological evaluation as a prognostic indicator in patients with oral lichen planus’.

In the paper, she compared various hematological parameters such as Differential leukocyte count (DLC), Total count (TC), Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and Hemoglobin (Hb) between patients with OLP and control group. The statistical analysis of the study found a significant difference in the Hb, ESR, lymphocytes and neutrophils between study and control group.
