World Oral Health Day Celebrated with Zest
The Department of Public Health Dentistry- KMCT Dental College conducted a free dental treatment camp on Wednesday [20th March 2019] at Akashaparavakal – Old age home, Pulloorampara. The camp was organized as part of KMCT Dental College’s World Oral Health Day celebration. The camp was intended for assessing the dental health of persons at Old age home.
Almost 40 persons were screened at the camp. Nearly 33 patients were given treatments free of charge. Medicines were also given to needy without charge. Awareness classes on Oral health care were also given by Dr. Dhanya Muralidharan [Reader and HoD- Dept of PHD, KMCT Dental College] and Dr. Arun Paul [Senior Lecturer- Dept of PHD, KMCT Dental College].
The camp was led by Dr. Dhanya Muralidharan [Reader and HoD- Dept. of PHD, KMCT Dental College] and Dr. Arun Paul [Senior Lecturer- Dept of PHD, KMCT Dental College] along with postgraduate students and interns.
Earlier the formal inauguration of the program was done by Sri. George M Thomas [M.L.A.- Thrivambadi Constituency ]. Dr. Rasool Karim Nizaro Siyo[ Vice principal – KMCT Dental College] delivered the presidential address. Mr Kuriayachan [Ward Member – Thiruvambadi Panchayath], Dr. Dhanya and and Dr. Arun Paul also spoke.
KMCT Dental College donated eight dining tables and dental kits to the old age home. Various Cultural programmes were also held. Dental College students and staff were present.
